Zhangxi Sacred Palace Handover Ceremony: Walking to Welcome the Seal, Returning to the Essence

(Miri, 29th) — The 27th handover ceremony of the Supreme Sacred Palace for the Year of Yisi 2025 of the Malaysia Doumu Temple Nine Emperor Gods Headquarters was successfully held last night. The event took place at the magnificent main hall of the Wu Qinglong Grand Master Complex at Hailong Temple in Miri, with over a hundred tables opened and more than a thousand people gathered, creating a grand and lively atmosphere.

In his speech at the banquet, Venerable Wu Qinglong, the abbot of Hailong Temple, pointed out that this year's Sacred Seal Palace handover ceremony was particularly meaningful. For the first time, the seal was escorted into the national congress and vegetarian banquet venue by “walking”, breaking the previous tradition of escorting with a decorated float, and symbolizing the original aspiration of faith and a steady, practical inheritance spirit.

“This time, we chose to walk to welcome the Seal, representing a return to the origin of faith, step by step, solid and down to earth.”

He also announced that for the next session, the hosting unit, Labuan Fenghuangshan Baxian Temple Nine Emperor Gods, led by Chairman Dato’ Wong Kin Ju, will escort the sacred seal back to Labuan by “shipping”, once again setting a new record in the association’s history.

“This is the first time in the history of the Nine Emperor Gods Headquarters that the seal is being escorted by sea. It is highly significant and symbolizes the cross-sea inheritance; a solemn and innovative milestone.”

Wu Qinglong also gave an emotional speech on stage, praising the event’s thoughtful design and execution, leading all attendees in enthusiastic applause to thank the hardworking team behind the scenes, as well as expressing gratitude for the strong support from the distinguished guests such as Dato’ Chan Chow Yaw and other fellow temple friends.

“All the highlights tonight are not my achievement alone, but the true heroes behind it—those who planned and organized to make tonight’s success possible!”

The lineup of guests was impressive that night, including not only local devotees but also representatives from fellow temples in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and other regions.

Venerable Wu Qinglong also specifically thanked the overseas temple friends for their attendance and support, and expressed appreciation to the organizing committee members.

“The entire team at Hailong Temple put in tremendous effort from preparation to execution. Thank you for your hard work. I applaud each one of you! Your dedication is the greatest support behind tonight’s success.”

He stated that although the venue was restricted and could not accommodate two or three thousand people as in West Malaysia, the enthusiasm of the participants and overall effect were not diminished at all.

“This year, we reduced the scale, but improved the quality, and still managed to gather a thousand people. This is a testament to our unity and strength.”

Finally, he expressed special thanks to the consuls and guests from various countries, saying, “Without your support, tonight’s event could not have been so successful. Thank you all for being here, and we welcome you to visit Miri again in the future!”
