(Miri, 18th) The 20th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (20 RAMD), stationed at Kem Sri Miri, will conduct the Pasak Bumi (EPB) Series 1/2025 military exercise from February 19 to 26, 2025, in various areas of Miri.
This exercise will take place around Sg Klad Plantation, Surea Plantation, Bino Plantation, Bukit Peninjau, Bukit Mutap, Keluru Tengah, Beraya Batu Satu Village, Siwak Village, Bakam Village, and Baie Mamut Village.
EPB is a simulated counter-insurgency operation (PMI) military training. A total of 170 officers and soldiers will participate, engaging in a 40 km tactical march over 8 days. The training includes orientational navigation, base establishment, communication operations, emergency response, ambush warfare, and enemy camp raids.
The military stated that the exercise aims to enhance commanders' coordination and decision-making abilities, strengthen officers and soldiers' tactical skills and discipline, foster team spirit, and test the physical and psychological quality of participants to ensure combat readiness.
