(Kuching, 18th) The Sarawak government will hold a competition allowing the public to come up with design concepts and suitable colors for the new airline, Borneo Airlines (AirBorneo).
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari stated that this initiative is due to the enthusiastic response from the people of the state towards the new airline. This includes seeing people actively proposing various ideas, designs, and colors for Borneo Airlines' aircraft through artificial intelligence and sharing them on social media.
“Yes, on social media, we can see designs in red, black, or mixed colors, and these designs are indeed beautiful.”
Therefore, he calls for a competition to select a highly representative color, allowing people to express their opinions on the future color of our aircraft.
Abang Johari expressed this view today while officiating the launch of the Sarawak Special Assistance Scheme (SKAS) in Sri Aman.
On the other hand, he also continued to emphasize that Borneo Airlines, the new airline for Sarawak's future, will provide low-cost services, especially targeting students studying outside Sarawak.
He said that because of Sarawak's strong economy, it is hoped that there will be affordably priced flights; only this way can we fly.
“Especially during festive seasons, Sarawak students studying abroad seek help because of expensive ticket prices, and some flights are fully booked.”
Additionally, Abang Johari also mentioned that a way must be found to bring more tourists to Sarawak, such as visiting places like Sri Aman similar to New Zealand. Whether one likes it or not, Sarawak must have its own aircraft.
He added that the business model will be announced later to ensure competitors do not get wind of it in advance.
