(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei and Her Majesty the Raja Isteri welcomed the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.
The Kosovo delegation, on a three-day visit to Brunei, was greeted with a state welcoming ceremony outside the palace.

This marks the President’s first state visit to Brunei.
During the audience, President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu awarded His Majesty the Sultan the "Order of Independence," while His Majesty bestowed upon the President the nation’s honorary title, "Datin Laila Utama," through the esteemed Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati (DK).
The Sultan and the President held bilateral talks, discussing various bilateral and international issues of mutual interest, particularly exploring avenues to strengthen economic collaboration and cultural exchange. A key focus was the signing of a visa waiver agreement, which paves the way for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
The Sultan and the President signed the agreement concerning visa exemptions for ordinary, diplomatic, and official passports.
At noon, His Majesty hosted a state banquet for the President and her spouse.
In his royal address during the banquet, His Majesty expressed his appreciation, followed by a speech from President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu.
The Sultan and the President first met on September 23, 2024, during a bilateral meeting at the Future Summit in New York. Brunei and Kosovo established diplomatic ties in February 2017, and this visit signifies strengthened relations, with discussions highlighting potential areas for deeper cooperation across various sectors.
