Liu Shishi’s Ballet Class Secrets Revealed: 'Never the Object of Jealousy'

38-year-old Liu Shishi rose to fame with 'Chinese Paladin 3,' became a household name with 'Scarlet Heart,' and later married Nicky Wu, who is 16 years her senior. A graduate of the ballet department at Beijing Dance Academy, she recently reunited with her 'childhood friend' Yin Fang. Yin Fang recalled that when he first met Liu Shishi, he thought she was especially beautiful, and described her as the kind of person in class who was 'liked by everyone,' even the teachers were happy to do her makeup individually.

Yin Fang and Liu Shishi were admitted to the Central Ballet Troupe around the age of 11 and were classmates for five years. Yin Fang said that during that time, Liu Shishi was never competitive or scheming, had no self-interest or aggression, and was never the object of jealousy. He also mentioned that during the class’s first cultural performance, the makeup teacher unconsciously and carefully did Liu Shishi’s makeup, while the other 12 female classmates had theirs quickly done by another teacher. He sighed, 'Back then, I already thought she was a star.'

Yin Fang was once a professional dancer before crossing over to become an actor. Recently, he has appeared in works such as 'Among the Living' and 'The Lychee of Chang’an.' Although he and Liu Shishi share the bond of having studied together, they have never worked together in the entertainment industry. In response to a magazine’s invitation to collaborate on a short film, Yin Fang said that seeing Liu Shishi standing in front of him brought a sense of impact: 'But she’s still the same as before.' The two showed great chemistry in their scenes together and did not break character by laughing.
