Taiwanese star Darren Wang drew attention in March due to the “desertion scandal”, but has now officially begun his alternative military service. He is currently working at the Taipei City Government’s Department of Social Welfare, mainly responsible for document delivery and assisting with various administrative duties. Although his home is in Taipei, just like other servicemen, he still resides in the alternative service center dormitory.
According to Mirror Weekly, on June 25, during a leave of absence, Wang was spotted with his current girlfriend, livestreamer Muxuan, downstairs at his home in Da’an District. Both of them wore hats and masks to keep a low profile. The couple then drove to a Hong Kong-style café, where they had a meal with several male friends. The gathering was relaxed and easygoing, with Muxuan blending in well among Wang’s friends. In contrast, Wang kept his mask on the entire time, clearly remaining cautious of his surroundings.
After about 50 minutes, the meal ended and Wang took his girlfriend’s hand as they were leaving, only to be recognized by a sharp-eyed fan at the restaurant entrance. Wang then generously took off his mask to take a photo with the fan, showing his friendly side. Afterwards, the couple walked down the street hand in hand, while their friends thoughtfully walked ahead, letting them enjoy a brief moment together. It is understood that Wang was just taking a short leave that day, making time not only to see his girlfriend but also to catch up with friends.
