(Miri, 11th) Regarding the Sarawak Political Alliance government's repeated compromises on Sarawak's oil and gas sovereignty, Sarawak Democratic Action Party Secretary Alan Ling pointed out that the Sarawak Political Alliance government has done nothing and has utterly betrayed the people of Sarawak.
Alan Ling stated that since the establishment of the Sarawak Oil Company (Petros) by the Sarawak Political Alliance, the Sarawak government has not hesitated to allocate large funds to invest, yet the company has not shown any substantial action. Rather, it seems more like an ornament, merely a political tool used by the Sarawak Political Alliance to deceive the people of Sarawak.
“Has the Sarawak Oil Company truly safeguarded Sarawak's interests, or is it merely a facade to make the people of Sarawak believe that the Sarawak Political Alliance is fighting for oil and gas sovereignty?”
He said the revelation by the Minister of Law in the Prime Minister's Department, Azalina, in Parliament has further shocked the people of Sarawak. If what she said is true, it means that the Sarawak Political Alliance government has already sold out the people of Sarawak a second time, handing over our resources and sovereignty to the federal government. This is not only a deception of the people of Sarawak but also a limitless pawn of Sarawak's future!”
“The compromise of the Sarawak Political Alliance today is identical to the agreement signed by the former Sarawak National Front government during the formation of the federation. The Sarawak government has repeatedly used the rights of the people of Sarawak as bargaining chips in exchange for political benefits. The Sarawak Political Alliance government 'sells Sarawak for glory', not only failing to truly fight for the rights Sarawak deserves but continually sacrificing Sarawak’s autonomy.”
He also said that although the issue has fermented so far, the Prime Minister responsible for the negotiations is still ambiguous. Allowing those people to talk nonsense, attempting to divert attention and muddle through. But obviously, the Sarawak Political Alliance government owes the people of Sarawak an honest explanation.
