BINTANGOR: The passing of the former Deputy Chairman of the Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Party (PBB) Meradong branch, Morsili Bakar, is deeply felt by the party, particularly within the Meradong division.
Sarawak Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and UKAS) and State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Semop, Datuk Abdullah Saidol, stated that the late Morsili’s contributions as a party member have significantly strengthened PBB's presence in the area.
"The passing of the late Morsili deeply saddens me, as he had long been involved in PBB’s Meradong branch. This is a significant loss not just to the party but to all the people of Meradong who cherished him," said Datuk Abdullah during his remarks at the wake held at Rumah Helmi, Taman Bintang, on Saturday.
The late Morsili, who passed away on May 4 at the age of 79, is remembered as a respected elder who diligently carried out his duties and made great contributions to the progress of the party and the people of the region.
Also attending the wake were the Chairman of SABERKAS for Meradong Branch N.46 and son of the late Morsili, Helmi Morsili, Pemancha Rapen Anga, and Penghulu Hashim Abang Solhi.
Datuk Abdullah expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and those attending the wake, honoring the memory of the departed loved one.
In addition, he held discussions with Pemancha Rapen and Penghulu Hashim about providing incentives to students who achieved five or more A’s in the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
Datuk Abdullah also expressed hope that the late Morsili’s family would continue to persevere and maintain their strength, emphasizing that his passing is a great loss for all PBB members in Meradong.
