(Miri, 24th) The Curtin University chess team delivered an outstanding performance in the recently held MASISWA tournament, once again bringing honor to the university.
Female team members include: Qiu Mei'en, Zheng Wenqian, Mo Xiaoxian, and Qiu Liying.
In this event, the women's team showcased formidable strength, successfully defending their title for the second consecutive time and winning the team gold medal. Meanwhile, Qiu Mei'en claimed the bronze medal in the women's individual event, adding further glory to the team. All four players demonstrated solid skills and stable performances, narrowly surpassing formidable opponents from other major universities, smoothly retaining their championship and extending Curtin University's strong presence in the women's division.
Male team members include: Yang Yudao, Chen Jingheng, Qiu Qiyou, and Tian Youcheng.
The men's team maintained a high level of competitive form in multiple intense matchups. Although they narrowly lost in the end, they still earned the team silver medal, showcasing Curtin University's all-around strength in chess. These excellent results not only reflect the long-term dedication of the team members but also demonstrate their professional attitude in staying calm under pressure.
