(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) Tutong Police Station and the Customs Department recently carried out a raid to combat smuggling of contraband in the area.
This operation was conducted based on intelligence received, which indicated a location in Sengkara Village, Tutong, involved in selling contraband. The task force carried out the raid based on this information and discovered 49 cartons of smuggled cigarettes in a large box at the scene.
During the raid, authorities also arrested a 25-year-old local suspect and seized money suspected to have been obtained from selling smuggled cigarettes, to assist further investigations. The suspect and items have been handed over to the Customs Department for further legal action.
