Israel attacked Iran's South Pars natural gas field, and Iran retaliated by attacking facilities in Qatar, escalating the entire conflict to a new stage.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement on the 19th, saying that it had launched the 63rd wave of the "True Promise-4" operation, "burning" oil facilities related to the United States as retaliation. The statement declared that the war between Iran and the US and Israel has entered a "new phase."

According to the statement, after intense strikes, Iran "burned" a series of oil facilities related to the US in the West Asia region. In addition, a multi-warhead missile struck and destroyed Israel’s military deployment center in the south.

The statement said Iran had no intention of expanding the war to oil facilities, nor any desire to damage the economies of friendly neighboring countries.

"Energy Facilities in Three Countries Become Legitimate Targets"

Iran had previously warned that it would retaliate for the attack on the South Pars gas field.

On the 18th, some petrochemical facilities in South Pars and Asaluyeh, Bushehr Province, Iran, were attacked by the United States and Israel. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps then urgently warned that the energy facilities of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar had become "legitimate targets."

Qatar's World’s Largest LNG Hub Attacked

On the 18th, Qatar Energy announced that Iran had attacked the world’s largest natural gas hub located in Qatar, causing significant damage.

Qatar Energy stated: "Ras Laffan Industrial City was attacked by missiles tonight."

According to Al Jazeera, the Ras Laffan Industrial City is located about 80 kilometers northeast of the Qatari capital Doha and is the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility.

The plant accounts for about 20% of global LNG supply and plays an important role in balancing fuel demand between the Asian and European markets.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates stated that its Habshan gas facility was affected and operations suspended during missile interceptions.
