(China News Service, Fuzhou, 17th) The 2025 China-ASEAN Week opened in Fuzhou on the 17th, bringing together representatives from all sectors of China and ASEAN countries in Rongcheng to deepen pragmatic cooperation and discuss development visions.
This year's China-ASEAN Week is themed "Shared Destiny: Linking ASEAN 2045 Vision and Chinese-Style Modernization," and is co-hosted by the China-ASEAN Center and the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Center, stated in his speech that the "ASEAN Community Vision 2045" is highly compatible with the goals of Chinese-style modernization. This China-ASEAN Week aims to promote deeper strategic alignment, uphold openness and integration, strengthen innovation-driven development, promote mutual learning in governance, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, thereby consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership and contributing to building a closer community of shared future.
Malaysian Senate President Awang Bimie stated that ASEAN and China should strengthen strategic alignment, expand cooperation in digital economy, green technology, artificial intelligence, blue economy, and other fields; and jointly build a China-ASEAN community of shared destiny through concrete actions, creating a peaceful, secure, prosperous, beautiful, and friendly home that benefits all peoples.
The "China-ASEAN Trade and Investment Cooperation Progress Report (2024-2025)" was released at the opening ceremony. Data shows that China and ASEAN have remained each other's largest trading partners for several consecutive years.
At the event, it was also announced that the China-ASEAN Aquatic Products Exchange has launched cross-border business. As the world's first aquatic-themed foreign-related exchange, the platform constructs a digital trade corridor through "online transactions, RMB settlement, and blockchain traceability," injecting fresh momentum into marine economic cooperation between both parties. The joint initiative of a China-ASEAN Digital Culture IP Database was also launched simultaneously.
China-ASEAN Week was first launched in Fuzhou in 2023, aiming to comprehensively promote the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership to the peoples of both sides. During this session, a series of parallel forums and activities will be held, including the China-ASEAN High-Level Thematic Dialogue, the Youth Marine Cooperation Roundtable, and the New Opportunities for Economic Cooperation Matchmaking Conference.
