An official from Vietnam's disaster agency said on the 17th that continuous heavy rains in central Vietnam have triggered floods and landslides, resulting in at least 6 deaths and more than a dozen injuries.
According to comprehensive reports from AFP and Vietnamese media, the Disaster and Dyke Management Department of Vietnam stated that on the night of the 16th, a passenger bus at the Khe Le mountain pass in Khanh Hoa province was struck by falling rocks and buried by mud, causing at least 5 deaths and 18 injuries.
Official media reported on the 17th that the bus was carrying 32 passengers, and rescue teams are racing against time to save those trapped.
On the afternoon of the 16th, a workers' dormitory at the Khe Sanh mountain pass in Khanh Hoa province also experienced a landslide, with one person confirmed dead and another missing.
