(Kota Samarahan, 8th) Sarawak's largest higher education expo – “Jom Masuk U” (JMU) – will be held this coming Saturday and Sunday (April 11-12) at the Penview Convention Centre, once again bringing together higher learning institutions from across Malaysia.
This two-day expo is jointly organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) through strategic collaboration, and it is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the state, continuing the enthusiastic response of nearly 500,000 visitors in Kuching alone last year.
The expo is open to the public and not limited to secondary school graduates. SPM and STPM examinees, diploma holders, graduates, and anyone wishing to further their studies—ranging from foundation to doctoral programmes—are welcome to participate.

Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah stated during the JMU 2026 Sarawak Region press conference held at the second campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia Sarawak on April 7: “This expo is also open to those aspiring to lifelong learning. Lifelong learning is one of the ministry's important agendas.”
The expo site will feature a total of 54 booths, including 20 public universities, 21 private higher learning institutions, as well as polytechnics, community colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (IKM), and other skills training agencies, covering almost all higher education pathways in Malaysia.
Visitors can communicate directly with representatives from each institution, receive academic consultations, and obtain detailed course information during the 30-minute one-on-one session.
In addition to the booths, the event is packed with educational and interactive content, including hands-on STEM experiences, innovation showcases by students and staff, as well as an art and design exhibition presented by UiTM's Faculty of Art & Design.
The expo will be officiated on Saturday by Dato Sri Roland Sagah, Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, who will represent Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari.
