(Miri, 24 January 2025) – Datuk Haji Ismawi bin Haji Ismuni, CEO of the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), today conducted a site visit to the Miri Indoor Stadium, accompanied by representatives from the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), the Sarawak Federal Development Office (SDO) ICU, Miri Resident’s Office, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Miri, and other key agencies.

The visit aimed to finalize preparations for the much-anticipated Program Bakti MADANI Miri 2025, scheduled to take place from 7-9 February 2025.

Datuk Ismawi emphasized that the Program Bakti MADANI Miri fully reflects the government's mission to serve the people and act in solidarity with them.

He noted that the program will bring federal and Sarawak government services directly to the grassroots, offering a variety of activities designed to strengthen community cohesion and enhance the public’s understanding and participation in government services.

“This event is not only a celebration but also a tangible action by the government to show its care for the people. Through the establishment of service booths, career exhibitions, and affordable markets, we aim to address the needs of various segments of society, particularly the lower-income groups,” he said.

One of the key highlights of the program will be the opening ceremony on 8 February 2025, which will be officiated by Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak. Additionally, government agencies and business representatives from across Malaysia and Sarawak will set up booths during the event to provide information and services to the public.
The event will offer a wide range of activities, including:

Exhibitions: Federal and Sarawak government booths offering essential services and information.

Career Exhibition (Pameran Kerjaya): A special exhibition providing job opportunities for young and talented individuals.

Pocket Talks: Informative sessions on topics such as health practices, education, and the latest online scams.

Jualan Rahmah: An affordable market offering goods and services at reasonable prices.

Karnival Usahawan: A platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services.

Konsert Rakyat: A concert featuring popular artists like Baby Shima, Ricky Andrewson, and Alleycats.

Additionally, visitors can participate in activities such as a Battle of the Bands, Zumba fitness sessions, and a children’s coloring contest. The event will also feature an exciting lucky draw with prizes including hampers, motorcycles, and the grand prize of a Proton Saga car.

Apart from the main event, a Satellite Program will be held on 8 February 2025 at the Sepupok Open Stadium in Niah, aimed at extending services to more communities.

The Satellite Program will include community cleaning activities (Gotong-Royong), free health screenings, a lucky draw, and booths from key agencies such as the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), Rahmah Cash Aid, Employees Provident Fund (KWSP), and the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), allowing more people to engage with government services.

Datuk Ismawi stated that this event is not only an opportunity for the public to enjoy but also a platform for the government to demonstrate its commitment to the people. RECODA and its partners will make every effort to ensure the event runs smoothly and provides an unforgettable experience for the people of Miri.

“We hope that through the Bakti MADANI program, Miri will not only become a better place to live but also a place where every participant feels the government's dedication and care,” he concluded.
