(Limbang, 3rd) An old dormitory belonging to the Public Works Department (JKR) located on Jalan Muhibah, Limbang, caught fire last night, with the entire building destroyed in the blaze. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Center (PGO) spokesperson stated that the Limbang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Limbang) received the report at 9:08 PM and arrived at the scene two minutes later.
It was reported that the building was a semi-permanent unoccupied house and was already fully engulfed in flames when the fire broke out.
“No one was injured in the incident. The fire brigade used a defensive firefighting tactic, deploying a 200-foot water hose and two water jets to extinguish the fire.”
The fire was fully brought under control by 9:33 PM, and the entire extinguishing operation concluded at 10:47 PM.
In addition, five members of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) assisted at the scene; SESCO also cut the power supply to ensure the safety of the firefighting process.
Currently, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
