(Kuching, 23rd) As many as 40 types of daily necessities are being promoted at a 30% to 35% discount, bringing real savings benefits to the public!
Actively arranged by the Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen's service center, and jointly organized with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living and collaborating merchants, the "MADANI Malaysia Compassionate Mobile Promotion" was successfully held yesterday at Langkau Arau Rumah Asap Dayak in BDC, attracting many people to shop!
At the event, the promotional essential items included eggs, various types of flour, condiments, and other basic daily necessities, with overall prices significantly lower than the usual market price.
Besides being able to purchase daily items onsite at better-than-usual prices, residents could also use the federal government's RM100 Compassionate Basic Assistance fund (SARA) for payment. With both discounts and the aid fund, they could buy more and spend less.

DAP Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, who personally attended to observe the event, said that this initiative is a program launched by the MADANI Malaysian government. Through government subsidies and cooperation with suppliers, the program provides basic food at steep discounts to reduce people's cost of living.
He said that in Kuching, including the Stampin area, there are two to three "MADANI Malaysia Compassionate Mobile Promotion" events held every month on average this year. Starting next year, the plan will be maintained at two sessions per month, rotating at different locations so that more people can benefit.
Chong Chieng Jen pointed out that about 40 types of daily essentials participated in the promotion that day, with discount rates between 30% and 35%, much lower than typical supermarket prices. He was also gratified that suppliers properly arranged the quantity and order of goods to ensure smooth operation of the event.

How can suppliers sell products at such low prices? Chong Chieng Jen explained that the government provides a subsidy grant of about RM15,000 to RM20,000 for each event to help suppliers absorb costs. Therefore, there is a fixed supply quantity of each product at every session to ensure fairness and order.
He continued, “MADANI Malaysia Compassionate Promotions” are not only held in Kuching but also in Sibu and other areas. Specific locations and frequency are determined through cooperation among local MPs, relevant agencies, and suppliers, ensuring sufficient supply and reasonable prices during activities so the public truly benefits.
Chong Chieng Jen is pleased that, thanks to his service center's active efforts and arrangements, this promotional activity is also delivered in a mobile fashion to different Stampin communities, bringing convenience and affordable daily essentials to local residents.

During the period, Chong Chieng Jen warmly interacted and communicated with people who came to shop, listening to their views on the event. Many members of the public said that the promotion was indeed convenient, affordably priced, and effectively helped families reduce their cost of living, especially with daily expenditures continuing to rise.
Chong Chieng Jen said that his service center will continue working closely with relevant departments to implement people-friendly policies at the community level, so those truly in need can benefit.
He also thanked the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, the suppliers for their cooperation, and the service center team and volunteers for their participation, making the event run smoothly.
It is worth mentioning that this was the last "MADANI Malaysia Compassionate Mobile Promotion" event of the year. With Christmas just four days away, the arrival of this promotional activity was both timely and well-received, allowing the public to enjoy a wave of savings before the festival and easing the pressure of holiday spending.
