(Kuala Lumpur, 21st) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar stated that PETRONAS' deepening involvement in Turkmenistan’s energy sector allows Malaysia to tap into one of the world's largest natural gas reserves, further consolidating our country's position in the global energy landscape.
He wrote on social media platform X that this development reflects a high level of confidence in Malaysia’s current capabilities and recognizes PETRONAS’ outstanding performance in its 30 years of operations in Turkmenistan.
On Saturday, PETRONAS, through its wholly owned subsidiary PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Private Limited, signed several new agreements aimed at strengthening long-term strategic cooperation with the country.
In addition, Anwar said that during his official two-day visit to this Central Asian country from June 18th to 19th, both parties also signed various cooperation documents involving education, diplomatic training, aviation, science, and human capital development.
“I am confident that the agreements reached by both sides will elevate the bilateral relationship to a higher level, benefit both peoples, and safeguard national interests.”
