Russia Successfully Test-Fires Latest ‘Sarmat’ Intercontinental Ballistic Missile

On the 12th, Commander of the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces, Karakayev, reported to President Putin via video conference that Russia had successfully test-fired its latest ‘Sarmat’ intercontinental ballistic missile that day.

Karakayev pointed out that the ‘Sarmat’ intercontinental ballistic missile can reliably destroy targets and fulfill strategic deterrence missions, and will significantly enhance the combat capabilities of the Russian military.

‘Sarmat’ has a range of over 35,000 kilometers.
Putin said the ‘Sarmat’ has a range of over 35,000 kilometers, with greatly improved accuracy, and is capable of penetrating all missile defense systems, making it “the most powerful missile system in the world.”

Putin stated that Russia is steadily carrying out its nuclear force development plan. The development work of the ‘Poseidon’ nuclear-powered unmanned underwater vehicle and the ‘Burevestnik’ nuclear-powered cruise missile has entered its final stage.
