(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) The Brunei Scout Association recently held the "Safeguarding: Safe From Harm" course, attracting more than 120 scout members, including the association's senior committee members, assistant scout commissioners, and scout members.
The course was organized by the National Scout Training Team of the Brunei Scout Association. During the event, a "Leave No Trace" webinar was also held, along with promotional activities on the themes of "Messengers of Peace", "Sustainable Development Goals", and "Earth Tribe".
The course was held at the multipurpose hall of the Brunei Scout Headquarters in Katuong Belait, aiming to enhance members' awareness and understanding of safety management, environmental protection, sustainable development, and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) global initiatives.
At the opening of the event, trainers and instructors introduced the course objectives and procedures. This was followed by a keynote address on "Safeguarding: Safe From Harm" by Zainudi, the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) Training Commissioner and Brunei's "Safe From Harm" instructor. The "Leave No Trace" webinar was hosted by Raimi, Deputy Chief Scout Commissioner of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and "Leave No Trace" network trainer of the Scouts Association of Malaysia.
This project also marks the beginning of regional cooperation in the areas of "Leave No Trace" and "Safeguarding: Safe From Harm".
The initiative aims to enhance the quality of national scout leaders, to fulfill the mission of cultivating capable, responsible, and visionary leaders who can uphold international initiatives and values.
