(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) Trillion Company, together with Sin Kim Huat Trading Co., Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant, and Trillion Fresh Mart, organized a large-scale blood donation drive on the 8th of this month at Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant on Jalan Muara, BSB.
The response on the event day was very enthusiastic, with 331 eligible donors. At the same time, this number broke Brunei's record for the most blood collected in a single-day blood donation activity.
It is understood that since 2022, Trillion has been holding blood donation events, and last year collected 302 pints of blood.
The 2023 Trillion Group event was awarded the "Highest Single-Day Blood Donation Record Honorary Certificate" by the Brunei Records Book, setting a benchmark for local blood donation efforts.
This year’s event had the honor of inviting Acting Director of Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Health, Pengiran Mohd Badil, as the guest of honor. Other guests included Acting Director of Laboratory Services, Dr. Zainu, Assistant Director Dr. Nuaqian, and Blood Donation Centre Director Chong Kim Moi.
Under the witness of the guest of honor, a donation handover ceremony was held. Trillion Company donated four HemoCue Hb 201+ analyzers and blood donation chair accessories worth BND17,000 to the Ministry of Health’s Blood Donation Centre to support its blood testing and collection efforts.
In addition, special awards were presented on-site to five young donors (aged 17–35) who set national blood donation records, in recognition of their selfless contributions and ongoing dedication to society.
The five award recipients were: Mohd Daufi (72 pints), Mohd Ilham (52 pints), Mohd Fadli (50 pints), Nurliman (49 pints), and Leon Yu Jin Lim (45 pints).
During the blood drive, the organizers also arranged a series of diverse activities. These included panel discussions co-hosted with the Ministry of Health’s health clinics, hematology units, and private enterprises such as Kare Medical Clinic, Traphy Physiotherapy & Sport Science, and RT1994 Optical (B) Sdn. Bhd, aiming to raise community awareness about the benefits of blood donation and the importance of health while dispelling misconceptions and concerns about the donation process.
The event also featured sharing sessions with record-holding young donors and thalassemia patients, as well as a health talk on “Healthy Lifestyle and Balanced Diet” conducted by Dr. Munifah Faridah. Free eye health and posture screenings and multiple health education exhibition booths further reinforced public health awareness.
Additionally, the organizers prepared 100 lucky prizes for donors, including a 55-inch TV (sponsored by MTK Enterprise), six Vivo Y19SPO smartphones (12GB RAM / 128GB ROM), Takashi brand electronic items (sponsored by DTAT Enterprise), 40 gift baskets worth BND100 each, and other attractive prizes. The draw for these prizes was broadcast live at 5 PM via Trillion's Instagram account.
The first 20 donors also received beauty vouchers sponsored by MTK Saloon & Spa. During the event, organizers provided free food and beverages, and arranged shuttle bus services between Sin Kim Huat Promenade Samakaya and Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant on Jalan Sungai Hanching, facilitating donors’ participation.
