(Kuching, Jan 13) Sarawak Government Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki calls on Sarawak civil servants to continue uniting and cooperating, striving to realize the post-2030 COVID-19 development strategy vision.
He stated that this is to ensure that public services can operate effectively for the benefit of the people of Sarawak.
"Our Public Service Department will always work hand in hand to realize the grand vision of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, ensuring that the various initiatives launched by the Sarawak government can be fully implemented."
Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki pointed out during his speech at the Sarawak Premier's keynote address event for 2025 today that 2024 has become a fruitful year for Sarawak.
He calls on all Sarawak civil servants to continue promoting the upcoming new initiatives.
Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki mentioned that to ensure that people from all walks of life can receive funding from the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Program, temporary customer service counters will be set up at various provincial and district offices.
He stated that the program will be implemented in phases across Sarawak, starting on January 18 this year, and the full implementation date will be announced later.
He said that so far, the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Program has received 398,942 applications, accounting for 45% of the total target.
"As of January 12, 2025, we have received nearly 400,000 registration applications for the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Program. The entire team of the Sarawak Public Service Department will continue to work closely with colleagues to ensure that the Sarawak government's initiatives can be executed optimally."
Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki also suggested that the Sarawak Public Service Department work together to ensure the smooth progress of the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Program.
He stated that challenges faced in providing assistance through digital vouchers in the Sarawak Pay e-wallet will be addressed through close cooperation between department heads, provincial offices, and district offices.
He said that the application channel for the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Program is open all year round, so beneficiaries need not worry about not being able to receive aid.
"Eligible applicants who have not been timely included in the list need not worry, as the online application for the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Program will reopen from February 1 to March 31."
