(Miri, 17th) The Miri District Police Headquarters has arrested two local men, believed to be connected to theft cases in the area.
According to a post by the Miri District Police Headquarters on Facebook, police launched an operation at around 2:20 pm yesterday in the Kampung Lereng Bukit area of Miri and successfully apprehended the suspects.
The post stated: "During this arrest operation, police seized several items belonging to the suspects, as well as items believed to be proceeds from theft, for further investigation."
Currently, the two suspects are detained at the Miri Central Police Station lock-up and the case will be investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code (theft).
The police emphasized that they will take uncompromising and stringent action against anyone involved in criminal activities.
"Therefore, the police urge the public to always abide by the law and provide information or report any suspicious activities to assist in jointly combating crime in the Miri area," the post said.
