Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar today issued a statement regarding the strong earthquake that struck off the southern coast of the Philippines, expressing deep concern for the affected population and stating that Malaysia is ready to provide assistance whenever necessary.
Anwar pointed out that Malaysia is deeply worried about the powerful quake and extended condolences and prayers to the people of the Philippines, hoping for the safety of those in the disaster areas. He emphasized that Malaysia is willing to offer support whenever needed, working together with the Philippines to tackle the post-disaster challenges.
He also mentioned that the effects of this earthquake have reached nearby areas in Malaysia, with some parts of Sabah feeling the tremors.
