Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Zaliha said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar emphasized that the government will only make a decision on providing allocations to opposition members of parliament after the opposition leader in parliament and the government coalition whip Datuk Seri Fadillah complete their negotiations.

However, Zaliha also mentioned that opposition MPs can also individually negotiate with the government coalition whip.

She stated this in a written parliamentary reply to PAS' Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifely Jusoh who inquired about the government's commitment to fulfill the 15th General Election manifesto of fairly distributing allocations to all MPs.

She mentioned that the federal government is committed to providing allocations to opposition constituencies or MPs through a memorandum of understanding negotiated with the opposition leader in parliament.

She stated that the prime minister's allocation to parliamentary constituencies is an additional allocation under the 5th Malaysia Plan, which also depends on the country's financial situation.

“The prime minister emphasized on July 9 that providing allocations to opposition MPs should not become a complex issue as it involves negotiation procedures and fundamental conditions as well as democratic procedures.”
