(Germany, 9th) — The European Union said on Saturday (November 8, local time) that China has confirmed the resumption of partial exports of Nexperia semiconductor chips.

According to reports from AFP and Reuters, European Commission Trade and Economic Security Commissioner Maros Sefcovic posted on social platform X, stating that China today provided confirmation... regarding further simplification of export procedures for Nexperia semiconductor chips destined for EU and global customers. He welcomed this news.

Sefcovic added that as long as the chips are for "civilian use" only, China will permit their export, and this measure takes effect "immediately."

He also said the EU continues to consult with China to establish a "durable, stable, and predictable framework to ensure a full resumption of semiconductor supplies."

The stalemate surrounding Nexperia has lasted for more than a month. On Saturday (November 8), China confirmed it has agreed to allow the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to send representatives to China for consultations, and Nexperia's product flows are expected to normalize soon.
German auto parts supplier Aumovio stated on Friday that it has received approval from China, with shipments of Nexperia chips and related components resuming, making it the first company to confirm it has obtained an exemption from Chinese export controls.
Japan's second-largest automaker, Honda, also said there are signs of improvement in chip supply.
