On the 20th, Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that continuous heavy rainfall in recent days has caused flooding in central Vietnam, resulting in 41 deaths and 9 people missing.
The floods have destroyed 167 houses, submerged more than 52,000 homes, damaged over 13,000 hectares of farmland, nearly 2,100 hectares of forest land, and 88 hectares of aquaculture area. More than 30,000 livestock and poultry have died.
Vietnam Railways has suspended 14 passenger trains, and Tuy Hoa Airport in Phu Yen province, central Vietnam, has suspended operations from 10 a.m. on the 20th, with service expected to resume at noon on the 21st.
Many disaster-affected provinces in central Vietnam have experienced power outages, impacting over 1 million users.
