(Kuching, 10th) Kuching Chung Hua Middle School No. 4 has recently discovered that lawbreakers are suspected of stealing the school and Principal Kuan Chen Yang’s identities to contact the public, businesses, and kind individuals via mobile messaging apps and other means, in an attempt to carry out fraudulent activities.
In response, Kuching CHMS No. 4 makes a stern statement, strongly condemning these illegal acts by scam syndicates, and calls on society to be vigilant, not to trust any suspicious messages to avoid financial loss.
Kuching CHMS No. 4 Principal Kuan Chen Yang stated that recently there have been frequent reports from the public that someone is impersonating 'Principal Kuan' or using the school’s name to send messages to businesses and members of the public, attempting to defraud money or carry out other illegal activities. These actions have seriously damaged the reputation of the school and individuals involved, and may also affect the public’s trust in the school.
He stressed that neither the school nor the principal would ever use phone calls, mobile messaging apps, or social media to ask anyone to lend money, transfer funds, purchase any goods, buy gift cards, or engage in any transaction involving money. If you receive any similar messages, you should be vigilant, never trust them, and always verify with the school or the principal personally to avoid being deceived.
Kuan Chen Yang urges the public, alumni, parents, and businesses that if they receive any suspicious calls, messages, or social media contact using the school’s or principal’s names, they should immediately verify with the school or the principal to confirm authenticity before taking any action, so as not to fall into the trap of fraud syndicates.
He said that scam syndicates are constantly changing their tactics, exploiting the public’s trust in schools and educators to commit fraud. Such actions are regrettable and should be strongly condemned by society.
“We strongly condemn these criminals impersonating the school and principal to carry out fraud. Not only does it damage the school’s reputation, but it also affects the interests of the public. We hope that everyone will raise their anti-fraud awareness and not give scammers any opportunity.”
Kuching CHMS No. 4 also reminds the public that if any suspected impersonation scams are discovered, they should immediately contact the school for verification.
