(Kuala Belait, 13th) The Brunei Chung Cheng Hakka Association will hold a Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, 16th Anniversary Celebration, and Academic Excellence Scholarship Award Ceremony for members' children on September 26th, 2026 (Saturday) at 6:30 PM at Jing Hua Restaurant, Seria.
The participation fee for the evening gala is $10 per member; members’ children under 12 may enter for free. Non-members will be charged $20 per person. Children of members who receive the academic excellence scholarships can participate in the gala for free.
Applications for the 2025/2026 Academic Excellence Scholarships for members’ children are now open and accepted from today. Those interested may obtain application forms from the association’s office, and must submit the completed forms along with photocopies of the full year’s report card to the following persons by September 12th, 2026:

Eligibility criteria for Brunei Chung Cheng Hakka Association members’ children to apply for the Academic Excellence Scholarship are as follows:
1. Primary and secondary students (Grade 1 to 11): Must place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their class for year-end results, or achieve an overall average of 80% and above.
2. Pre-university and tertiary students: For Cambridge Advanced Level (GCE “A” Level) year-end examination, must obtain at least 1A or have an overall average of 70% and above.
3. Government Primary School Assessment (PSR): Must achieve 3A and above.
4. SPE Secondary Grade 8: Must achieve “Express Entry” score of 75% and above.
5. Cambridge Ordinary Level Examination (GCE “O” Level): Must achieve 3A and above.
6. Cambridge Advanced Level Examination (GCE “A” Level) (non-AS Level): At least 1A or above.
7. Those who have attained a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree.
