Internet Pet Celebrity With Over 1.5 Million Followers, 'Huang Ama’s Imperial Harem Life' Black Cat Passes Away

The internet celebrity pet account “Huang Ama’s Imperial Harem Life,” which has over 1.5 million followers and regularly documents the daily lives of several cats, has long captured the attention of fans. Operators Zhiming and Lǐmāo posted on social platforms on the 10th, stating, “Regrettably, we must share some sad news at this time,” confirming that the black cat Socles passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 10, 2026, due to late-stage mediastinal lymphoma.

Taiwanese YouTubers Zhiming and Lǐmāo wrote in their post that they originally hoped to inform everyone after Socles’s condition stabilized, but ended up unable to do so as wished. In looking back on Socles’s illness, they noted that as early as the end of last October, Socles was rushed to the vet for suspected thrombosis. After comprehensive examination and neurological assessment, serious illness was ruled out, and it turned out to be a false alarm.

However, on January 29 this year, Socles suddenly developed open-mouth breathing and was once again taken urgently to the vet. Imaging revealed an unidentified mass inside the body, initially suspected to be either pneumonia or a tumor. After multiple samplings and tests, and sending specimens for overseas analysis, a malignant lymphoma was ultimately confirmed by National Taiwan University Hospital on February 3, with the tumor located close to the heart and lungs, posing a severe threat to life.

On the evening of the diagnosis, Socles immediately began chemotherapy. The two shared that the first treatment was effective, with the tumor shrinking significantly, but to prevent drug resistance, medications had to be continually adjusted, resulting in diminishing effects of later treatments. Even so, Socles maintained a lively and affectionate personality throughout treatment, only seeking the oxygen chamber for rest during discomfort, and would interact proactively whenever slightly recovered.

On March 15, Socles once again developed open-mouth breathing and was rushed to the emergency room. She briefly returned home after treatment. However, on the night of April 7, her condition worsened again, and after being rushed to the hospital, there was no further improvement. Over the following days, her body gradually weakened, and finally, in the early morning of April 10, accompanied by loved ones, she passed away, ending her nearly 16-year life journey.

Zhiming and Lǐmāo stated that sharing this news was not to make fans sad, but so those who loved Socles could accompany her through her final journey. They also thanked the medical team that took care of Socles all along, as well as the family and friends who helped look after her.

Facing the blow of losing their beloved cat, the two admitted they need time to process their emotions, and future updates to their social platforms and videos will be temporarily on hold. “We’ll probably take a break from our social media and videos for a while; even though we were mentally prepared, it’s still too painful.” They also expressed their gratitude to fans and said that if anyone misses Socles, they can look back at past photos and videos to remember her and keep those memories alive.
