(United States, 1st) On the 28th, US President Trump posted on social media claiming that Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei is "dead", and that the US and Israel’s bombardment of Iran will continue.
The Iranian side denied this news. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, in an interview with US media, said, "As far as I know," Khamenei is still alive.
In addition, according to multiple Iranian media outlets, a source close to the Supreme Leader’s office stated that Khamenei is “firmly and calmly commanding the situation on the battlefield.”
Analysts believe that Trump spreading this news serves multiple purposes: on one hand, it could help undermine Iran's will to resist; on the other hand, if Khamenei were to respond, he might expose his whereabouts under US and Israeli round-the-clock surveillance and bombardment, which may truly put him at risk of death.
On the evening of the 28th, the head of public relations for the Supreme Leader’s office in Iran stated on his personal social media account that, as the hostile US and Israeli forces suffer heavy blows by Iran’s armed forces, they have now turned to psychological warfare. He urged the Iranian public to remain vigilant against the enemy's psychological tactics.
