On the evening of the 4th, Chinese Hangzhou tech company 'Unitree Robotics' released the latest training video of its humanoid robot H2 on its official website. In the clip, the 180 cm tall, 70 kg H2 demonstrates a series of new movement capabilities, including airborne side kicks and spinning kicks, crisply smashing a suspended watermelon and forcing the company founder Wang Xingxing to step back.
According to Sing Tao Daily, at the start of the video, as the H2 robot runs up and performs a jumping side kick, the height of its raised leg surpasses the top of an adult's head. Opposite, Wang Xingxing instinctively steps back to avoid it. In a subsequent spinning aerial kick, the robot directly shatters a watermelon hanging high up, and then immediately kicks sandbags weighing 60kg and 120kg half a meter away.
Public information shows that the H2 is a new generation robot launched by Unitree Robotics last October. It is equipped with 31 high-degree-of-freedom joints, and its legs have 7 dedicated joints that can flexibly adjust the arch of the foot. Combined with a hybrid hydraulic and motor drive system, it achieves both explosive movements and precise control.
