(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) The Brunei Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) has issued a fine of BND 500 to a school located in Kampong Delima Satu, Jalan Muara, for violating workplace safety regulations.
According to a statement released by the authority, during an enforcement inspection conducted at the school on July 6, it was found that the school had violated Article 4 of the Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations regarding the provision of first aid kits. Enforcement action was therefore taken in accordance with the law.
The statement pointed out that after being notified, the school took the necessary corrective measures to address the violation.
The authority reminds all business owners and employers to comply with the Workplace Safety and Health Order (Chapter 277) and its subsidiary regulations to ensure workplaces meet safety and health standards.
The authority stated that anyone found guilty of violating the Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations could be fined up to BND 5,000.
The authority stressed that it will continue to enforce compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations through regular inspections and enforcement actions to protect employees, the public, and the environment.
