Namewee arrived at the headquarters of the Jinma Police District to surrender himself at 1:10 am today (5th), accompanied by 3 men and 2 women, arriving in three separate vehicles.
It is understood that he entered the police station together with his lawyer and two friends; the lawyer and those two individuals left the police station at 2:19 am and then retrieved their car from the parking lot across the street.
When reporters stepped forward to ask questions, the lawyer only briefly replied, “Namewee is safe.” Afterwards, the three of them left the scene in two vehicles.
In addition, the two friends who accompanied Namewee to the police station also left shortly after entering.
Earlier, Namewee was wanted by police for involvement in the Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh's (Iris Hsieh) murder case. On the 22nd of last month, Iris Hsieh was found dead in a hotel bathtub. The case was initially classified as sudden death, but Kuala Lumpur police later re-investigated the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder).
