(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) An impressive fireworks and drone show was held the night before last at Jerudong Park Playground and Recreation Park, attracting tens of thousands of spectators. The gathering was packed and lively, creating a spectacular scene.
This event was held in conjunction with the celebration of the Sultan's 80th birthday. The Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, Datin Duti Yati, was invited to attend as the guest of honor.
Other attendees included China’s Ambassador-Designate to Brunei Chen Shaochun and his wife, Minister-Counsellor Chen Chuan from the Chinese Embassy in Brunei, Economic Counselor Shi Rongke of the Chinese Embassy, as well as Brunei-Muara District Officer Pengiran Amir Mubarak, among others.
The fireworks display officially kicked off at around 8pm the night before last. Brilliant fireworks of various colors lit up the night sky, dazzling and spectacular, in combination with a drone light performance. The festive visual show delighted audiences, with waves of cheers erupting from the crowd.
Many members of the public began arriving at the park and surrounding roads as early as 6pm to secure good viewing spots. The area surged with crowds and nearby roads experienced severe traffic congestion.
The fireworks and drone show were carefully planned by the Fireworks Preparatory Working Group under the Brunei-Muara District Sultan’s 80th Birthday Celebration Committee, and successfully held thanks to the generous support and sponsorship of numerous private companies and individuals, bringing an impressive visual feast to the public.
