(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th)—Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) celebrates yet another milestone in its commitment to cultivating Brunei's future medical talent.
A ceremony awarding the JPMC Scholarships for the year 2026 was held at the auditorium of the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) building.
Scholarship recipients, their families, and invited guests gathered together to celebrate the new chapter for aspiring professionals in the medical field and to acknowledge the achievements of the first JPMC scholarship awardees.
The Minister of Health and JPMC Board Chairman, Dato Isham, attended the ceremony as the guest of honor.
At the beginning of the event, JPMC's Human Resources Manager Tracy Lamontan McGreen re-emphasized JPMC’s longstanding commitment to talent investment during the opening, noting that talent is the cornerstone of quality healthcare services.
“Each scholar we sponsor represents an investment in the future of healthcare in Brunei. Since the establishment of the scholarship program in 2023, our commitment has remained steadfast: to support Bruneian talent in pursuing healthcare careers and to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to make meaningful contributions.”
This year’s graduation ceremony was particularly significant for JPMC as it marked the graduation of its very first scholarship recipients. Three scholars have successfully completed their studies and will soon embark on their careers at JPMC.
Their achievements reflect the scholarship program’s impact in nurturing local talent and strengthening the national healthcare workforce.
Following a rigorous selection process, JPMC awarded scholarships to five students, who will continue their studies at the JPMC School of Health Sciences.
Farzanah Batrisyia Binti Ahmad will first complete a foundation program in science before pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree. Muhammad Rizman Bin Ratino, Nur Hafizah Rashidah Binti Julkafli, Hajah Razan Dzarifah @
Naqibah Binti Haji Zaini, Nursuhairatul Bazilah Binti Muhammad Suhairman, and Abdullah Litoh/Mohamad Suhairman Bin Litoh will begin their Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree programs.
In addition, this year JPMC has also expanded its scholarship program by awarding two internal staff scholarships to support the professional development of existing employees.
Senior Medical Science Officer and Head of the Hematology Laboratory, Tong Lizhu, received a scholarship to pursue a Master's in Haematology and Transfusion Science.
Era Nuvita, a nurse in the Maxillofacial and Reconstructive Surgery Centre’s operating theater, also received a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
