(Miri, 5th) A fire broke out at noon today in a three-story auto parts store on Jee Foh Road, Krokop 7. The fire started on the second floor, but fortunately, the fire department quickly arrived at the scene after receiving reports and managed to control the fire in a short time, resulting in no casualties.
According to the initial report released by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, the fire was reported by the public at 11:48 AM, indicating a shop house on Jee Foh Road,Krokop 7, was on fire.

The Miri Central Fire Department received the report and immediately dispatched a team consisting of FRT Scania BMD 4427 fire truck and EMRS BMY 4404 ambulance, departing at 11:49 AM and arriving at the fire scene by 12:00 noon to commence action.
Upon arrival, the commander assessed the situation and found that the fire originated from the second floor of the building, estimating the burned area to be approximately 30 feet by 40 feet. Firefighters immediately launched an "offensive" firefighting action, using water from nearby hydrants and a hose to extinguish the fire.
The fire was fully controlled by 12:13 PM, and the entire extinguishing process was completed by 1:10 PM. It is initially estimated that about 40% of the unit area was affected by high temperatures and thick smoke.
In addition to the 6 members from the Miri Central Fire Department, 8 firefighters from Lopeng Fire Department also provided support, making the operation faster and more efficient.
The operation was personally commanded by Deputy Director Muhammad Khuzir, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with the case handed over to the Fire Investigation Unit (Forensik Kebakaran) for further investigation.
It is learned that the fire site is about 11 kilometers from the Miri Central Fire Department. After completing the aftermath and safety inspection, the fire team returned to the station at 1:11 PM and arrived back by 1:39 PM.
