On the 9th, U.S. President Trump and California Governor Newsom accused each other of wanting to start a 'civil war'.
Trump said to reporters at the White House on the 9th that those participating in the protests in Los Angeles recently are all 'professional agitators', 'insurgents', and 'bad people' who should be jailed, and Newsom is extremely incompetent, doing a terrible job, and should be arrested.
A reporter suggested that Newsom said the president intends to provoke a civil war, to which Trump pointed out, 'On the contrary, I don’t want a civil war to happen, but if everyone lets people like him (Newsom) act, a civil war will happen.'
Trump said, 'I like him (Newsom); previously I got along well with him, we had no problems, but he is very incompetent.'
Previously, when Trump ordered the California National Guard to be deployed to the Los Angeles area, Newsom accused Trump of acting like a 'dictator'.
Newsom told local Los Angeles media: 'He is not here for peace. He is here to make war. He wants to start a civil war on America’s streets, not just here.'
