Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun called for strengthening global solidarity and warned of an increasingly divided world, saying the "law of the jungle" must not dominate.
According to foreign media reports, Dong Jun, in his opening address at the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing on the 18th, said that the world today is shrouded in Cold War mentality, hegemonism, and protectionism. These remarks were seen as an implicit criticism of the United States.
He said: "External military intervention, pursuit of spheres of influence, and coercing other countries to take sides will lead the international community into chaos... Blindly pursuing absolute military superiority and upholding 'might makes right' will push the world towards division, reduce it to the law of the jungle, and plunge it into disorder."
Dong Jun also said that the Chinese military is willing to engage in open discussions with all parties on global security issues.
According to CCTV Military, the theme of this forum is "Jointly Safeguard International Order, Jointly Promote Peace and Development," with over 100 countries, regions, and international organizations participating. About 1,800 people, including registered delegates, observers, and journalists, are attending.
