During a rehearsal segment of the airshow held in Changchun, Jilin Province, China, two XPeng Huitian eVTOLs (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles) collided and crashed.
According to reports from 'Ke Chuang Ban Daily' and 'Yicai', XPeng Huitian stated on the 16th that in the afternoon, after the rehearsal at the Changchun airshow concluded, two aircraft from Guangdong Huitian General Aviation participating in formation training made contact due to insufficient spacing. One aircraft landed normally, while the other suffered fuselage damage and caught fire during landing.
XPeng Huitian stated that all personnel on site are safe, and relevant authorities have orderly completed on-site handling.
According to the company’s official website, XPeng Huitian is the largest flying car company in Asia and is an ecosystem company under XPeng Motors.
The 4th Changchun Aviation Expo will be officially held at the Changchun International Aviation Expo City from the 19th to the 23rd.
