Based on defects in the structure, equipment, and systems of cars, the Land Transport Authority will recall 41,688 cars from six manufacturers for inspection to prevent related cars from causing accidents.
The Director General of the Land Transport Authority, Aidil Fadli, stated that the recalled car models include the Honda Civic and CR-V (36,678 units), Kia Sorento XM (4,245 units), MAN TGS (291 units), Ford Everest (288 units), Audi E-Tron GT (168 units), and Mercedes-Benz and AMG (18 units).
He stated in a press release that the production years of the recalled cars are as follows: Honda Civic and CR-V (from 2022 to 2024), Kia Sorento XM (from 2010 to 2015), MAN TGS (from 2021 to 2023), Ford Everest (from 2022 to 2024), Audi E-Tron GT (from 2022 to 2023), and Mercedes-Benz and AMG (from 2017 to 2023).
"Manufacturers will contact affected car owners to coordinate car inspection times."
"In view of this, all owners of affected models are urged to prepare so that the recall procedure and vehicle inspection can proceed quickly."
Aidil Fadli said any related defective parts will be replaced at the expense of the respective manufacturers.
He pointed out that car owners can contact or visit nearby dealerships and service centers to obtain more information about the car recall procedure.
