According to China Central Television News, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Daniel Francisco Nyusi of the Republic of Mozambique arrived in Changsha, Hunan, on Thursday morning to begin a week-long state visit to China.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Nyusi has been invited to make a state visit to China from April 16 to 22.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, introducing Nyusi's itinerary during a regular press conference on the 14th, said that this is President Nyusi's first visit to China since assuming office. During the visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping will host a welcoming ceremony and banquet for Nyusi, and the two heads of state will hold talks.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji will also meet with Nyusi respectively. Nyusi will also visit Hunan and Qinghai.
Guo Jiakun said that the friendship between China and Mozambique has a long history. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, the two countries' friendship has stood the test of changing international circumstances and has remained steadfast. Currently, political mutual trust continues to deepen, cooperation in various fields is fruitful, and the two countries closely collaborate on international and regional issues.
He stated that China believes this visit will promote the in-depth development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Mozambique, contribute to building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era, and promote solidarity and cooperation among the Global South.
