Hong Kong's renowned producer Nansun Shi passed away on July 13 due to multiple organ failure caused by a bacterial infection, at the age of 75. The “Encore Nansun” memorial service was held at 10am on the morning of the 2nd at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Nansun Shi's ex-husband, Tsui Hark, arrived early to make arrangements. Many well-known film industry figures, all dressed in black, also attended—Brigitte Lin, who shared over 40 years of friendship with Shi, entered quietly with sunglasses on, unable to hide her sorrow. Chow Yun-Fat, with a head of white hair, was seen holding hands with his wife, Jasmine Tan. Sammo Hung arrived in a motorized wheelchair. Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Carina Lau arrived hand in hand. Eric Tsang, one of the "Cinema City Seven Monsters" along with Tsui Hark and Nansun Shi, as well as Sylvia Chang, Gwei Lun-Mei, Kevin Tsai, Donnie Yen, Alan Tam, Kenny Bee, and Li Bingbing, also came to bid Nansun Shi a final farewell.
The entrance of the memorial service was decorated with white, blue, and purple floral arrangements, simple and elegant. Tsui Hark, who was by his ex-wife Nansun Shi’s side at the end, specially produced a short film about her life, which was played during the memorial, letting friends and family fondly remember her. Shi's close friend Yu Ching, directors Andrew Lau and Derek Yee all arrived before 9am, all visibly grim.

Later, Leslie Cheung's beloved Daffy Tong and manager Florence Chan arrived with Karen Mok's mother. Cale Chih-chi and Calvin Chih (from Grasshopper), Dayo Wong, George Lam, Sally Yeh, Charlie Yeung, Zhang Jingchu, and many other entertainment industry figures attended the memorial. It is reported that Nansun Shi was cremated on the 24th of last month, with her ashes placed at Po Fook Hill.
