(Miri, 12th) The Miri Teochew Association will hold the 2026 Bing Wu Year Chinese New Year Gathering and Presentation of Outstanding Academic Awards to Members’ Children Dinner to celebrate the Spring Festival and to promote connections and interactions among fellow townsfolk. The event will be grandly held on March 21, 2026 (Saturday) at 6:30pm, at the Fuhua Hall. At that time, members, compatriots, and distinguished guests from all walks of life will gather together to celebrate the festive season and cherish kinship.
Chairman Yang Zhenping stated that the Chinese New Year Gathering is one of the association’s most important annual events. It is not only a festive event to welcome spring and blessings but also a key platform to foster hometown bonds and strengthen links among members. The association hopes that, through this event, members and compatriots will communicate and build friendships in a warm and joyous atmosphere, embodying the spirit of “unity is strength,” and jointly promote the continual development of the association.
The evening will feature a diverse program, including dance performances, singing acts, and a lucky draw. At the same time, the association will present Outstanding Academic Awards to Members’ Children to commend students who are hardworking and achieve excellent grades; additionally, Outstanding Extracurricular Achievement Awards and Service Awards will be conferred to recognize members’ children with outstanding extracurricular performances and to thank committee members for their long-term dedication and contributions.
