In the early hours of the 27th, a train accident occurred at Luoyang Town Railway Station in Kunming, China. Test train No. 55537, which was checking earthquake monitoring equipment, collided with construction workers who had entered the tracks while passing normally through a curved section inside Luoyang Town Station, resulting in 11 deaths and 2 injuries.
After the accident, the railway department immediately launched an emergency response plan and worked together with the local government to organize medical treatment and emergency rescue for the personnel involved.
The railway department expressed deepest condolences to the victims, and stated that relevant responsible persons would be held accountable in accordance with the law and regulations.
