Amid heightened tensions between China and Japan, the Dalian Maritime Safety Administration has issued a navigation warning stating that from Sunday (November 23) to December 7, military missions will be carried out in certain waters of the Bohai Strait and the northern part of the Yellow Sea.
According to the website of China's Maritime Safety Administration, the Dalian Maritime Safety Administration announced a navigation warning that from 4:00 p.m. on November 23 to 4:00 p.m. on December 7, military missions will be conducted within the areas bounded by the coordinates 38-51.7N121-38.2E, 38-34.2N121-38.2E, 38-33.9N121-07.9E, and 38-48.2N121-14.1E, with no entry permitted.
Previously, the PLA conducted live-fire exercises in the central part of the Yellow Sea from November 17 to 19, after which China’s Maritime Safety Administration issued another navigation warning, announcing that live-fire exercises would continue for eight consecutive days starting November 18 in the southern part of the Yellow Sea, prohibiting entry to the areas bounded by specified coordinates.
Earlier this month, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi delivered remarks in parliament about the "Taiwan contingency," to which Chinese Consul General in Osaka Xue Jian retorted with "beheading" rhetoric. Since then, China-Japan tensions have continued to escalate, with China maintaining pressure on Japan through various channels.
