(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) Hengyi Industries yesterday signed three new agreements during the 2025 Enterprise Growth Connect (EGC) at The Empire Brunei Hotel, with DHI Water & Environment(B) Sdn Bhd (DHI), Utamacon Management Services (B) Sdn Bhd (Utamacon), and HSC Consultants Sdn Bhd (HSC Consultants).
This signing marks another important step for Hengyi Industries in strengthening its local business capabilities and advancing long-term partnerships with Brunei's downstream industries.
Hengyi Industries CEO Chen Liancai signed the agreements on behalf of Hengyi Industries; Ms. Lin Huifang, Senior Environmental Specialist of DHI, signed on behalf of DHI; HSC Chief Consultant Hishamuddin Alli signed on behalf of HSC Consultants; and Alexander Chin signed on behalf of Utamacon.
Ma Ziyu, Head of Materials Supply Department from Hengyi Industries, DHI Senior Environmental Specialist Goh Thing Thing, HSC Consultant Normawati Bte Dato Paduka Hj Othman, and Utamacon's Humdhan Mohamed witnessed the signing ceremony.
Each agreement supports key technological development areas in Hengyi Industries' current and future operations:
- The "Dry Gas Enhanced Production Project Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Services" agreement signed with DHI covers environmental impact assessment for the proposed efficiency enhancement projects.
- The "Qualified Personnel (QP) Framework Services for the Department of Electrical Services" agreement signed with Utamacon establishes a QP Framework Service, enabling timely QP support for planned and temporary development projects at Hengyi's operational sites.
- The "Fixed Facility Safety Case for Hengyi Projects" agreement signed with HSC Consultants provides three years of consulting services for fixed facility safety cases, strengthening operational safety and compliance.
Since 2024, Hengyi Industries, through active collaboration with local enterprises, has continually contributed to Brunei's economic growth. To date, the company has awarded over 200 local contracts, contributing more than 70 million dollars to the local economy.
In addition to signing the agreements, Hengyi Industries also participated in the 2025 EGC conference as a guest speaker and exhibitor, focusing on its "In-Country Value" (ICV) program, showcasing the company's sustained efforts to support local suppliers, create shared opportunities, and promote collaboration between the private sector and local businesses.
EGC 2025, themed “Empowering Local Participation”, is organized by Brunei Economic Development Board, aiming to build a platform that connects local enterprises with leading companies and government agencies. The event includes knowledge-sharing sessions, consulting workshops, and exhibitions, with the goal of fostering procurement, collaboration, and capacity building among micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
