The Beijing to Ulaanbaatar route, operated by Air China using the C919, marks the official launch of regular international commercial operations for China’s domestically produced large airliner.
According to comprehensive reports from CCTV News and Science and Technology Daily, starting Wednesday, Air China flight CA723/CA724 will operate daily round-trips between Beijing Capital International Airport and Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The outbound flight departs at 3:00 pm and arrives at 5:15 pm, with the return flight departing at 6:30 pm and landing at 8:35 pm.
This is the first international commercial route for China’s independently developed trunk jet to be open to ordinary passengers and included in the global ticketing system as a regular service. It also signifies that, after its large-scale domestic operation phase, the C919 is officially commencing regular cross-border passenger services.
Previously, the C919 has been showcased at various overseas airshows, including two Singapore Airshows and one Dubai Airshow.
