(Israel, 5th) Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed on the 4th that the Israeli military carried out an airstrike on an Iranian petrochemical facility that day, stating that this move marks a further escalation of military action against Iran's industrial infrastructure.
According to Iranian media reports, the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in southwestern Iran was hit by an airstrike, resulting in 5 deaths and 170 injuries.
Netanyahu issued a statement on social media the same day, saying, "We have destroyed 70% of their steel production capacity, which is the material they need to manufacture weapons to attack us. Today we attacked their petrochemical plant as well. These two are their cash cows, used to fund terrorist wars against us and the entire world."
Netanyahu stated that Israel will continue to strike Iran's steel and petrochemical facilities, targeting these 'cash cows' of the Iranian government.
