(Tehran, 5th) The Iranian military has responded to U.S. President Trump’s issued '48-hour' ultimatum, emphasizing that the Iranian armed forces will resolutely defend national rights and protect the country’s assets, making any aggressor pay the price.
Abdollahi, the commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Armed Forces, said on the 4th that after repeatedly facing failures, Trump has resorted to 'helpless, panicked, unbalanced, and foolish actions', attempting to threaten Iran’s infrastructure and national assets.
Abdollahi stressed that if the United States and Israel launch such attacks, 'we will launch sustained and devastating strikes without restriction on all infrastructure used by U.S. forces as well as Israeli infrastructure.'
On the 4th, Trump stated that Iran has 48 hours to reach an agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz, or else 'hell will descend upon their heads.'
On the morning of the 4th (U.S. Eastern Time), Trump posted on social media: 'Do you remember I once gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz?'
'Time is running out; after 48 hours, hell will descend upon their heads.'
According to AFP, Trump was referring to the final ultimatum issued on March 26, when he stated: 'I will suspend actions to destroy energy facilities for 10 days, until 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, April 6, 2026.'
